Benefits of Acupuncture

Have you ever thought about why you would use Acupuncture?

Let me tell you about the wonderful benefits of Acupuncture and how it helps you on an emotional and physical level.

Acupuncture has been around for thousands of years as a complimentary medical practice, which has over 400 points and 12 Meridians available to treat the body so that it can come back into a balanced state or normal homeostasis. The 12 different Meridians are the Lung, Large Intestine, Stomach, Spleen, Heart, Small Intestine, Bladder, Kidney, Pericardium, Gall Bladder, and Liver. There are 2 extra Meridian called the Conception Vessel and the Governing Vessel. In one way or another, each of these Meridians are all interconnected. The Conception Vessel (or CV Meridian) is best used for fertility issues but also helps to balance energy toward Creative Pursuits, Personal Development, Change, or Creating Anything New. The Governing Vessel (or GV Meridian) is called the body’s high-energy highway, which helps to bring energy to the body, and supplies energy to deficient meridians, organs, or body parts.

Within any given treatment, you can use anywhere from approximately 8 to 40 different acupuncture points, to accomplish a successful treatment plan for your recovery. Each of the Acupuncture points has spiritual, environmental, emotional, and physical aspects. Let’s take for example, the Lung Meridian, which has 11 different Acupuncture points on it, and deals with Yin & Yang and Qi. Yin and Yang, on the surface, deal with balance within each other, and Qi translates as air or life force energy. Even our food has life force energy!!!

The Lung Meridian is the first of the 12 Meridians, or energetic pathways, that start your day at 3:00 AM. So, if you wake up regularly between 3:00 AM and 5:00 AM, there is usually some type of imbalance on the Lung Meridian. It starts from the throat region, goes across the upper chest, and then goes down the arm, ending beside the thumbnail. It is associated with the element of Metal (people say “Metal Lung”); it rules the skin and sweat glands, which are important for detoxing and is related to Grief. If you have too much Stress in your body, the Lung Meridian, aids in helping you balance the other 12 Meridians and organs. The Lung Meridian in Chinese Medicine works closely with the Large Intestine Meridian to maintain the smooth flow of your life force energy and immune system.

Benefits of Acupuncture

Relief from Anxiety/Stress, Insomnia, Pain, Cancer, Neurological Issues, Wrinkle Removal, Digestive (IBS and GERD), Sinus/Allergies, Arthritis, Addictions, Nausea, Concussions, Sports Related Injuries, Auto-Immune Diseases, Depression, Tinnitus, Fertility, Dementia and Diabetes.

Did you know that when you are in Labor, Acupuncture can help the baby come through the birthing canal, with greater ease, by treating on the Bladder Meridian! It has become the norm now that so many Moms are also dealing with Post Partum Depression, and Acupuncture is amazing for releasing the correct hormones in the body, by removing stagnant Qi, so it can flow with greater ease, and lift the spirits of the “New Mom”, allowing her to fully enjoy the cycle of Motherhood. And kids/young adults love Acupuncture as well, because they learn how Acupuncture helps them to recover quickly from Sprains/Strains, Headaches and Migraines as well.

There isn’t anyone that cannot benefit from Acupuncture. Because it deals with the Gut/Brain Connection, many patients realize that Acupuncture accompanied with proper nutrition, good emotional and spiritual support, you will be able to live a very happy and healthy life.
